Dr. Chad M. Watts is a Board Certified orthodontist who is honored to be part of the wonderful community of Greater Colorado Springs and Monument. He received his Bachelors of Science in biology at the prestigious Gonzaga University. With an academic scholarship he then attended Oregon Health and Sciences University, graduating Magna Cum Lade, with a doctorate in medical dentistry.

Dr. Watts has been proud to teach throughout the world while he was the Chief of Orthodontics in the

USAF. He served his country for three years as a general dentist in the USAF at Elmendorf AFB Alaska and was selected as Company Grade Officer of the Year. His dream was finally fulfilled when he was selected as the top dental officer into the orthodontic residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center, San Antonio Texas. There he obtained critical specialty training for two additional years to create smiles that improve self-esteem, are beautiful and last a lifetime. After serving as an orthodontist in Japan for an additional 3 years, Dr. Watts transitioned his family out of the service to Southern Colorado.

In addition to being committed to excellent patient care and treatment, he is dedicated to educating his colleagues and patients and to the advancement of orthodontic technology. Dr. Watts has been setting the highest standards of excellence in orthodontics for over a decade. Educating residents in multiple aspects of orthodontics including diagnosis and treatment planning, growth and development, adult orthodontic treatment, and surgical orthodontics. In addition, he enjoys educating and informing orthodontists about the innovative technology of passive self-ligation orthodontics.

He is a Damon System Premier provider and is involved in multiple study clubs with other advanced Damon providers throughout the country. He has been a featured speaker at the National Institute of Dental Health (NIDH) annual meeting presenting his research to his colleagues. Most recently, his peers and patients selected him as their top orthodontist in Colorado as featured in Style Magazine.

Dr. Watts is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Colorado Dental Association (CDA), and the Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists (RMSO). Additionally, Doctor Watts is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics (AAO), American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), House of Delegates of the American Board of Orthodontics (HDABO), Colorado Orthodontic Association (COA), the Colorado Orthodontic Foundation (COF), and Kinds In Need of Dentistry (KIND).

In 2012, Dr. Watts founded Smile for a Lifetime of El Paso County, a non-profit organization which gives back to the community and invests in the future of underserved children. Through this organization, Dr. Watts provides orthodontic treatment to 10-12 local children each year. Recipients are required to perform a 40-hour community service project as part of the program’s Pay it Forward Clause.

Dr. Watts has three children: Carter (11), Jenna (9), and Cohen (6). When not busy with his family and his practice, Dr. Watts enjoys coaching his children’s Pride soccer, hiking, mountain biking, lifting weights, fly-fishing, and traveling. He is also known around the office for his love of games, jokes and contests.
